Helping UK Trade Mark holders apply for (European-wide) Community Trade Marks
Trade Mark Attorneys - Join Our Panel!
Community Trade Mark Filing Support (CTMFS) offers administrative support to UK Trade Mark holders who would like to extend their IP protection across Europe. CTMFS assist the process by using our proprietary software to prepare all of the necessary paperwork (which will mirror the UK Trade Mark in terms of classes and mark text) for the customer to file directly with OHIM. We make the process possible so that you can simply file the application yourself without the need to use a Trade Mark Attorney.
A Trade Mark Attorney is only essential to make representations to OHIM (the European Trade Mark Registry) should you encounter any problems with your application down the line. However, according to statistics*, these "problematic" applications only make up 17% of those filed and in most cases, the application is accepted without issue. You may be able to save money by using CTMFS for the administrative element and only instruct a Trade Mark Attorney should you encounter issues down the line. If you were to encounter any issues, we can recommend a Trade Mark Attorney from our panel who can make representations on your behalf.
By using CTMFS for our CTM filing support, it can make the process extremely straight forward, requiring very little of your time to apply for a Community Trade Mark, as long as you would like it to contain the same information contained within your existing UK application. If you would like to apply for a Community Trade Mark that does not mirror and existing trade mark (approved or pending), we recommend you seek legal advice for this.
We would welcome you shopping around and researching your options before using CTMFS to ensure you make a decision which is right for you. If you would like to know more about our service, please call 08447 520053 and one of our advisers will be happy to help. Alternatively, email us at enquiries@ctmfs.co.uk, use the form provided at www.ctmfs.co.uk or write to us by post at CTMFS, Suite 9 Imperial Court, Exchange Street East, Liverpool L2 3AB, clearly providing your return address.
Please note for the avoidance of doubt - CTMFS do not employ lawyers; nor can we offer legal advice. If you require a Trade Mark Attorney you may find one in your area by visiting the Law Society web site at www.lawsociety.org.uk
I have received a marketing document containing a pro-forma - what do I do now?
Please ensure you read all pages of the document, in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions (also found at www.ctmfs.co.uk/terms) which explains clearly information about our company, about Community Trade Marks, about OHIM and how the process works. We also enclose an community trade mark filing service (by way of us assisting with your application), simply use the tear off slip provided, complete the details requested and then make payment to us by cheque quoting clearly your pro-forma reference number. Once we receive your order, we will process this through our system and you will receive the welcome pack containing 3 copies of the application paperwork ready for you to check and sign within 28 days.
